About us

Little Miss Juneteenth North Texas was created to provide young African American girls with a platform to shine, celebrate their heritage, and build confidence. Inspired by the legacy of Juneteenth and the voices of local moms seeking opportunities for their daughters, this pageant is designed to cultivate self-esteem, leadership, and a sense of pride in who they are.

Our mission is to inspire, uplift, and empower young girls to embrace their uniqueness while learning the importance of cultural heritage. Through engaging activities and meaningful pageant experiences, participants gain valuable life skills, build lasting friendships, and showcase their talents in a supportive environment.

Our Founder

Marquita Thompson, the visionary behind Little Miss Juneteenth North Texas, was inspired by her community to create a space for young girls to feel valued and celebrated. Listening to local mothers express the need for a pageant tailored to younger girls, Marquita saw an opportunity to combine her passion for empowering youth with a deep appreciation for cultural heritage. Her dedication to highlighting the beauty and brilliance of young African American girls has shaped the foundation of this pageant, fostering confidence, self-discovery, and pride in every contestant.
